On this page, I introuduce some of my favoirte books. A lot of Japanese writers' books are transltaed into English.
20/03 Memories of a Geisha

Finally, I have read this book. I spent a couple of month only for this book because I read just a couple of pages in the morning everyday.
Before reading this, I saw the same title movie based on this novel. That was magnificent one. But I like this novel because more and more nice scenes described.
For writing this comment, I read a couple of pages again. And I like this sentence, too.
"My mother always said she'd married my father because she had too much water in her personality and he had too much wood in his."
If I read this novel again totally, I'll found more and more impressive ones.
Sooner or later, I read this book for my second time.
18/01 GAI-JIN James Clavell

I read this book because I'd like to know the foreign viewpoint about Japan.
This is interesting about Bakumatsu era, namely at the end of edo era.
James Clavell wrote the period so minutely. This is extraordinary novel.
Recently, I'm reading more novels about Bakumatus era in Japanese. It might be the turning point of Japanese history and I got much interest in that than before recently.
18/01 Japanese Tales of Mystery and Imagination
Japanese Tales of Mystery and ImaginationI like Rampo Edogawa. He is probably the origin of Japanese Mystery writing. Although this book is thin, this includes his nice stories. I'd like to read other stories in English.
